Koi are a legendary fish. They are graceful, vivid, and are a very recognisable type of fish.
Koi are revered sale and respected, and are commonly associated with Japan.
They were introduced to Japan by Chinese invaders, and the koi got their name around 500 BC.
In the early 1800s Japanese farmers began keeping them for aesthetics, and over the eons, the meaning, culture, and symbolism of Koi has become iconic around the world.

For this piece I used high quality cold pressed paper stock, and high quality pigment.
