These earrings feature a pair of cabochons of scenic jasper. The stone is set in sterling silver.

Picture jaspers are known for their striking images, which seem amazingly vivid for having been formed by natural processes. Many varieties exist, showing striking combinations of colors and complex scenes including clouds and rolling hills.

This is an unusual example. I am not certain what variety of jasper these are. They have a beautiful blend of red, orange and blue coloration with thin veins of what appears to be native copper running through them. I wish I knew the exact sale locale, as this material is extremely striking, but it was part of a collection and didn't have a label. They are a perfect pair of butterfly-matched cabochons.
