Who doesn't love a good powder day? A thick layer of fresh snow, and you're on your way cruising down the mountain! This painted skier is enjoying one of those days on the mountain where everything seems perfect. 'Powder Days' features a clear blue sky with textured mountains in the background. In the foreground is a skier with a lime green helmet sale and pants in the midst of a backcountry run. The texture of the snow is one of my favorite elements of this painting! It conveys the movement of the snow and the thick, soft look of fresh powder.
I painted this in my textured palette knife style with acrylic paints and mediums on stretched canvas. Whether or not you are an avid skier, this piece has such an enticing energy and feeling of movement, that it will draw you in and inspire you not matter what!
The edges of the canvas are painted a clean white, so framing is not required. It is coated with a professional gloss varnish that protects the paints from fading and discoloration.
