I love this antique beaded silk satin dress panel from the Art Deco era, c.1920's-'30's! Uncertain of origin sale, but it was salvaged from a dilapidated period gown.
The beading is so lovely against the black satin ground. The colors of the glass and early plastic beads are: orange, silver/grey, black, green, agua, red, orange blue and yellow. The panel also has hanging swags of orange and silver/grey beads. It is very tactile and densely beaded. Simply beautiful!
Perfect to re-purpose on a period flapper/Art Deco gown or dress.
The condition of the panel is excellent for age and previous use. There is one horizontal seam towards the bottom of the panel. Everything else looks in order. No stains or marks, holes or tears, fray or splitting. No odors or pet hair. Lined with the same black silk satin.
Size: 34" x 8 1/4"- from top of panel to bottom of beading including the swags of beads. 18 3/4" x 7 1/2" - beadwork only including the swags of beads (that extend approx an inch past the bottom.)
