This is a charming one of a kind custom display. It started as a 1940's California watercolor landscape painting on paper. The painting has been in-set a modern beechwood frame. It is accented by a .25" hick textured mat and is under glass. Surrounding the inside of the frame is the matte. The frame measures sale 11.25"; x 8.25:. The painting sits approximately 2" back forming a small shelf, lined with glass allowing space for display. I thought air plants would look lovely so I added a few of my mini's for reference. I love the idea of displaying something organic. The colors are so vibrant. The painting itself almost seems 3D with its foreground and back. The colors are stunning. It has not been cut, it is original size. The inside borders have the look of triple matte, but it is really the original painted border and the original paper showing. It is signed Mamy.
