Very nice stoneware table sale lamp model 1084-1 by Einar Johansen for Søholm Denmark 1960s, Mid Century Modern Design.

Beautiful stoneware table lamp model 1084-1 by Einar Johansen for Søholm (Denmark). Designed in the sale 1960s with a wonderful deep blue glaze developed by Svend Aage Jensen with brown accents shining through.
The height of the lamp is 25 cm (including the socket) with a diameter of 11 cm. The weight of one lamp is 550 grams.
The lamp is in very nice vintage condition without chips or cracks and only minor traces of wear. The lamp is in good working order.

Please note: The socket is suited for a E27 light bulb large fitting.

The Søholm ceramics factory was founded in 1835 in Rønne on the Danish Island of Bornholm. It was closed in 1996. During its existence the Søholm factory produced many iconic and highly collectable pieces. Main designers for Søholm where Noomi Backhausen , Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi , Paul Brandborg, Rigmor Nielsen, Josef Simon, Gerd Hjort Petersen and Per Rehfeldt


Most post 1960 pottery from Søholm is stoneware (stentoj in Danish). The word stentoj is often inscribed or stamped on the base of an item.
