The upper part of the case snaps in, the keyboard magnetically attaches - it is VERY strong, it wont come off unless sale you put some effort in. All together a very good alternative to the magic keyboard, i picked this up for about 200 after tax so it is a nice, cheaper alternative. The important part of the case, the keyboard, is in perfect condition. The trackpad is also a nice touch. There is also a little slot on the back to keep an apple pencil safe, which is very handy.
