Hand painted and framed 10x10, This tribute piece, "The Invisible Girl", is an attempt to capture ones own personal experience through an invisible illness. The term disability is often and mistakenly only referred to people who have visual challenges such as someone using a wheelchair or hearing aids. Invisible illness sufferers are often undermined, fall under harsh labels, or are judged when using something such as a handicapped parking spot while disease wreaks havoc inside their body, effecting their career, education, and social life. Spreading awareness about invisible illnesses is the only way to create a more accepting, understanding world with medical and social validation for those who suffer.
