The Karner Blue Butterfly is an endangered species that survives in pine barrens and oak savannah ecosystems – or wherever wildlife lupine flowers grow! Only one inch wide in diameter, you can identify this stunning butterfly by it's deep violet-blue wings with frosted white tips. sale Their larvae greatly depend on wild lupines for food. But since wild lupine flowers grow in areas born from wildfires, there are very few habitats left today for wild lupine and karner blue butterflies to flourish -- only 0.06 percent of the 50 million acres of oak savannah persevere today!
