14-Karat Gold
14k gold is the most commonly used gold for jewelry settings. It's composed of 58.3% gold and 41.7% alloy. Appearance: 14k gold has a yellow hue brighter than 10k gold, but not nearly as vibrant as 24k gold. .
9K Gold
9-karat gold contains 9 parts pure gold and 15 parts additional metals such as silver, tin, nickel, zinc, palladium, etc. 9K yellow gold solitaire ring with a ruby. Calculated as a percentage, the purity of a 9K alloy is 37.5% – this is the proportion of pure gold it contains.
Sterling silver
It is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.
Sterling silver is perfect for everyday wear; you can go to the gym, shower, and sleep in it. It's also hypoallergenic, so it's great for people who have sensitive skin. Sterling silver can tarnish if it's left out to oxidize with air, so we recommend storing it in a sealed zip bag if you are not wearing it. Getting it wet and wearing it often actually helps prevent it from tarnishing
Gold Vermeil
Gold vermeil is 2.5 microns of gold layered on top of a sterling silver base. Our vermeil pieces are sent to a reputable plating factory that has the capability of measuring exactly how much gold they sale are layering on top of the sterling silver.
Gold vermeil is perfect for everyday wear; you can go to the gym, shower, and sleep in it. It's also hypoallergenic, so it's great for people who have sensitive skin.
••• Care Instructions: Solid Gold •••
Use jewelry cleaner and a brush with soft bristles. You can also DIY clean with an old soft toothbrush and a mild dish-washing liquid. Rinse well and lay on a towel to dry. To buff out surface scratches, take to a local jeweler. You'll also want to have the prongs tightened by a jeweler every 8-12 months to ensure your stones don't come loose.
