New Old Stock designer dress has its original paper tag.
It was made in the UK by Laura Ashley—a talented English designer. Fabric is a lightweight 100% viscose/rayon fabric.
Laura (1925-85) and her husband began business in 1953 as a screen printing business from their home in London. They designed scarves, placements and towels. Eventually they moved to Wales and designed their first dress in 1966 using their own fabrics. Their first USA store was opened in San Francisco in 1974. Business was sold in the late 1990's.
Dress size is UK 10; Eur 36; and USA 6. I show it on a size 6 mannequin.
The color is a muted lavender featuring a petite floral design with pink and taupe flowers with green foilage. Very feminine, lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Construction details include some gathering at the shoulders, long sleeves with a foldover cloth button, a long invisible zippered back, and pleats at the bust and down the front and back.

The hem is sale finished with a cross stitching and I am not sure if this is normal or if it could be hemmed to suit the buyer.
