This is a mixed media piece of a farm with a red barn on the great prairies. It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7x11 inches to 24x36 inches.
Growing up on the prairies, I've seen red barns that come in all shapes and sizes. Each of them beautiful in their own way. I hoped to capture the beauty of these farms in this piece.

My process to make these pieces is as follows:
Draw on the lines with pencil
Burn in the lines my wood burning tool
Paint in the spaces
Burn the edges of the wood with a torch
Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering
