This beautiful "Shoken-silk / genuine Japanese silk, Shibori" Dusty Rose color scarf made by traditional Japanese vintage silk KIMONO.
This particular piece is extremely valuable and time consuming to make, using the process of Shibori.
Shibori is a traditional process similar to tie dying, where tiny pieces of fabric are pinched up by hand and wound around with thread nine times, making thousands of tiny beads. After dying by hand, the threads are removed, creating color and textural patterns.
A shibori kimono can have 150,000 separate beads and take two years to make.
In addition, this particular scarf is made from one complete piece of fabric, which has finished edges on both side.
