IMPORTANT NOTE about THIS Weighted Blanket: This blanket is a cotton front and minky back: however; this fabric print is available in minky. The size for an all minky blanket would be 54 x 72. If you are interested please reach out and ask me :) There is a small additional charge for both minky at front and back, for the more expensive fabric :) If you are interested I can create a special listing for the additional charge and create the blanket as all minky :) The additional cost is $25.00 for the all minky, 54 x 72, blanket.

WEIGHTED BLANKETS:

Weighted blankets have been shown to help individuals with autism, ADHD and other sensory disorders. When you place 10% of you body weight, evenly distributed, over yourself...it increases serotonin (happy hormone) and melatonin (what helps us sleep) and decreases cortisol (your stress hormone). Weighted blankets can help to improve your sleep, weighted blankets can help calm anxiety and help decrease depression. Studies have shown that weighted blankets help with a large variety of things (but aren't limited to only these things)

Pain, Anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Restless Leg Syndrome, Dementia, Parkinson's, Insomnia, etc...

FILL:

Each weighted blanket is filled with glass beads. They are washable: Wash Cold, No liquid fabric softeners, Extra Low Setting for Dryer.

Every weighted blanket is made with only the highest quality fabrics. We use minky, cotton and flannel for our weighted blankets.

WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION IN THE WEIGHTED BLANKETS:

The glass beads are sewn into 6x6 pockets, each filling is weighed out to make sure that each pocket has the same amount of filler and the weight is evening distributed across the blanket. I do have a 4 x 4 upgrade if you are interested. The 4 x 4 upgrade is under the sale 'Upgrade Section' of the store.

Please make sure to pay attention to the size you purchased...

Depending on the blanket you pick, the sizes come in a variety of choices:

Travel Size, SMALL Kids Size or Lap Blankets: 36x44 or 36x48,
Basic Adult Average Size: 44x70 or 48x70
XL Size: 58x80

(Please note that it is the buyers responsibility to make sure the inches work for what they need. Everyone has different needs and have different body sizes, the descriptions next to the inches, above, are ONLY a generalization and nothing more!)

Please remember that these are handmade items and can vary up to one inch, in either direction. They also need to be measured with a fabric measuring tape ONLY.
