"Prickly Pear Cactus" is an original 10x10" acrylic painting on cradled wood panel. It features a still life prickly pear cactus (opuntia microdasys) houseplant in a terra cotta pot on a soft white background. Kristin is an enthusiastic plant parent who enjoys painting her favourites from among her 90+ houseplants (each of whom are named; this cactus is named Thing 2).

The painting is varnished with a semi-gloss UV protectant coating to sale resist fading over time. The edges of the cradled wood board are painted white to match the background of the painting so it can be hung/displayed without a frame if the buyer chooses.

Works are carefully packaged for shipping in reused packaging materials to reduce the environmental footprint associated with getting Kristin's work safely to buyers. You may see the occasional Amazon logo in the packaging of your purchases from Kristin's shop, but you can feel good about knowing that waste is minimized in this way and rest assured that her neighbours won't miss the cardboard scavenged from their recycling bins!
