Large whimsical sterling brooch depicting a seated cat with whiskers, signed by designer, Taxco, Mexico.
Measures 4 1/8" high, 2 1/2" wide.
Working safety catch.
Stamped on back with .925, Mexico, T P-60. The T stands for Taxco, the P is the initial of the artist, and the #60 designates that the artist is the 60th artist to register at Taxco when the new standards for silver were instituted in Mexico in 1980.
Designer not specifically designated, but Taxco was always in the forefront of interesting and modernist silver design.
Good condition, clasp functions well, no damage, just slight tarnish and light indications of wear on surface. As it is vintage sale and has been worn, is sol as is.
