French oil painting. French vintage mid century painting.
Here we have a splendid example of French mid century art. This lovely little still life is a real splash of colour with flowers on top of a table with oranges in foreground.
It is signed in the bottom right hand corner, it looks like Jean Bayard, but it is quite faded.
I have put the painting as 1950s but it may well be earlier perhaps 30s, it does seem to be quite and old canvas.
As you can see the painting is unframed.
The overall condition is good although I think it could probably do with a surface clean to take the colour back to it's original vibrancy.
If you are adding to a collection of French art, or starting a new one, this lovely painting is a superb example of it's type and would enhance any collection.
