This flute is made with the power of the sun. It's also a walking stick because of the extra unused bamboo sections. The mature bamboo walking stick I used before I switched to PVC lasted for about three years with minimal upkeep before it developed a crack and I gave it up. I took mine through snow, mud, over rocks, and toasted it once a year. If you often sit around a fire, you should be making your own flutes with a hot metal rod anyway.
A bass pipe at this size has a playable length of around 3.5 feet, recommended only for people 6 feet and up. These are designed for a modified pipers' grip which uses the inside pads of your sale index and middle fingers. You will NOT be able to hold this comfortably using only your fingertips.
First pad on your index finger, close to your palm,
Second pad on your middle finger,
And the last pad on your ring finger, your ring fingertip.
I usually design my flutes for a right-handed grip with your left thumb closest to your jaw. Let me know in your order message if you'd like a flute flipped left handed.
The finish is provided with sandpaper, steel scrubbers, cannabis oil, and a hollowing rod. Tuning is in the key of D, 2 octaves below a penny whistle. These play in tune with minimal breath control as priced.
"Why is shipping so high?"
I have to package these extremely carefully to avoid damage in transit. A single tube mailer around 4' long can cost 35$ alone. My shipping materials are recycled whenever possible so you are subsidizing a few years of storage from the 1 or 2 large tube mailers I might find in a year. Shipping fees alone are also typically in the 35$ range.
