Our clocks are lovingly made by hand, one at a time. However, no two pieces of wood are the same, so the grain pattern will change from clock to clock. The quartz clock movements are very quiet, so there's no annoying ticking sound.
This clock is made with blue stain pine. Blue pine is beetle kill pine that has been harvested from our evergreen forests. The blue/gray stain that comes from the beetle infestation makes the wood unique and beautiful. Harvesting these trees removes dead wood than can contribute to wildfires and helps to sale maintain healthy forests. The beetles do not weaken or contaminate the wood, and the fungi is actually burnt away during the kiln drying process. Beautiful, eco-friendly blue stain pine is the result! We remove the hands from our clocks to protect them from shipping damage. We include easy hand assembly instructions with the clock. Each clock requires one AA battery.
