Slinky and elegant bronze statue of a young Mother playing with her Child, made in the 1960's-80's in an abstract Mid-Century Modern Giacometti style.
This Modernist sculpture is cast in bronze with a dark patina and thickly textured style mounted to a heavy bronze base. The woman and child sale are depicted with long spindly limbs, simple graceful curves, and featureless faces. The simple abstract forms emphasize the motion of the child swinging from her mother's arms. There are no maker's marks I can see.
It stands a 12" tall by 7" wide by 8" deep, and weighs 3.5 lbs.
This sculpture is in great shape and will make the perfect addition to any Mid-Century Modern decor.
