30mm Original 3D cast Pine Cone plugs, suspended in silver sale mica flecked acrylic. Hand crafted Amazing 1 3/16ths gauge body jewelry
This original set of plugs was turned from a Pine cone that I dried, stabilized then cast in acrylic with a swirl of silver mica added to it. The 3 dimensional look is more than amazing, I am giddy with how these turned out! You see so much of this simple yet extraordinary seed delivery system. The lobes of the cone float out suspended in the acrylic on one side, you see the rose shaped bloom of the tip of the cone on another. Then you get to see a bloom of the center of this amazing piece of nature. I challenge you to hold them up to the light of sky and gaze into the wonder of it and let stress fall away for a moment...
This set measures *** 30.25mm wearable area x 1.25mm flare x 11.25mm deep*** 1 3/16ths" flesh plugs. >>> This set is on the thinner side, would not be right for a fleshier lobe.
Here is another set of acrylic nature plugs to come out of my shop. I didn't buy this, I crafted it from start to finish using acrylic, a seed pod and natural mica flecked pigment. I use acrylic with no VOC's, Volatile Organic Compounds. And the stabilizing solution is food grade safe once heated to cure. I don't believe anyone is doing this yet for body jewelry, I'm the first from what I can find. (but I am sure that won't last now that I put my work out here) Some are buying the blended blanks from supply stores and turning pens and wine stoppers from them, some are buying the already made blanks for making faces on Vape boxes. I am mixing the resin adding a touch of color and floating the material within until it cures so I can cut it down and turn the plugs from it.
*** there could be micro scratches or small ripples in the plugs, sometimes I have to stop polishing as to not ruin the piece trapped within *****
These are a show stopper people, looking into the resin to see the points of the seed pod within is so cool. These plugs will all be one of a kind sets, no custom orders due to the process. However I hope to add many sizes over the next month or so. However, if you see a set in your size don't wait to grab them because once they are gone they are gone!!!
I turned these in my shop on my lathe. After hand sanding I rub them with organic oils and wax. The oil brings out the color and grain beautifully while protecting the wood. They are measured with my digital calipers as I go and are flared on both sides so no rubber ring is needed. Saddle style flesh plugs.

I am an avid woodworker, love all species. I turn many things, and while getting my last tattoo started talking to one of the artists about gauges. He encouraged me to give it a shot, turning them that is. So, here we go! Hope you enjoy what I did! Larissa
P.s. I won't be listing all sizes in all species, so if you like this wood and need another size convo me and I most likely can get them turned for you within a week. Sooner if a rush order is needed. Peace....
