Vintage 1950/60's -Jewelry Box - Please Read This isn't your typical vintage Japanese black lacquer musical jewelry box. This little beauty measures 14” across, & 8” wide, featuring different levels. Adorned with brass accents & closure, it has mother of Pearl inlay under glass outlined with birds & flowers w/ green to highlight leafs. Bottom center is a 4x5 area in the middle of the box, where a little magnetic ballerina dances in a circle when the top right box is opened. Plays music of a sweet lullaby, doesn't play fast, just a slow melody. Bottom right is a small area in which the top comes off for further storage. Far left, is the biggest part of the jewelry box for storage complete sale with the brass ball closure. The Japan Sticker on the bottom authenticates origin of creation. The box does have some worn areas on the red velvet, and little dings on the box appropriate for the age. Top right inside box has damage to the mirror on the bottom, broken but useable (pic).
