This mill is 12" tall and is 2 3/8" in max diameter (at foot) and 2" in diameter at the waist.
The wooden mill design is simple and elegant to feature the natural beauty in the wood. The top and bottom of the mill are from the same billet of wood and orientation is maintained.
The mill was sanded to 400-grit sandpaper then finished with three coats of Mahoney Walnut Oil Finish. Mahoney's Walnut Utility Oil finish is a pure California walnut oil which is heat-treated to penetrate deep into the wood, harden and leave long-lasting protection without toxic driers. Like raw walnut oil, it imparts little or no flavor or odor, nor will it go rancid. This finish imparts a natural satin finish rather than a glossy one. If you use the mill regularly, oils from your hands will maintain the finish indefinitely.
The mill mechanism in this pepper mill is a Danish CrushGrind ceramic mill that is very durable, adjustable and capable of grinding peppercorns, spices and even coarse sea salt. It should last a lifetime. The grind adjustment is the small gray wheel at the bottom of the mill. Turn the wheel clockwise for a finer grind and counterclockwise for a coarser grind.
