Timeless , Elegant dress from the fifties in excellent shape,so stylish with beautiful lacing on it, this dress is looking sale for you!

I love , love, love this dress. It says size 50 on it but I am guessing its a size 9. It is 36" from top of neckline to the bottom of the skirt and the back measures 18" across. There is no built in lining so it would be cool in the summer if you chose not to wear a slip with it. The elegant lace on the front makes it look elegant, stylish and timeless. I resewed the sewed about 10 years ago because I wore it a few times with a handmade crocheted sweater and white dress shoes.

The dress was actually my mother's dress and sat in her closet for years. When she died in 1996 , my father gave it to me, and I was ecstatic. My mother was beautiful especially in the 50's, a picture of her wearing the dress with a 3/4 length sweater sitting on her shoulders, her black curly hair swept back in a chiffon, looked stunning. A three string pearl necklace, a sparkly silver clutch and sparkly peep toe shoes. She sale finished it off with dark red lipstick. Audrey Hepburn comes to mind when I look at that picture or this dress, a classical style that never dies. I haven"t worn it because of weight gain and it is crying out for a fresh new owner and a cocktail party.
