Product code: Sale Rosewood footed platter
Showing the natural beauty of the wood of the East Indian Rosewood tree, this item measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter, about 2 inches high. Using a doily, it would make an attractive server for small pasteries or other confections. This piece was reclaimed from a Rosewood tree felled in Florida by Hurricane Irma.
The darker wood is the heartwood, with the lighter wood being the sapwood, making it apparent that this piece was turned from a section where the tree split into two branches. The natural grain of the rosewood makes the coloring of the surface of this piece look almost three dimensional.
This item may be cleaned using a sale soft cloth with some mineral oil on it. This will restore the lustre of the food-safe finish.
