This design was drawn from sketches and memories of a trip to El Chaltén in Argentine Patagonia. The iconic triangular peak of Mount Fitz Roy appears through constantly shifting banks of clouds.
Studies were painted in watercolor and gouache. The final print was printed from two hand-carved blocks employing both a Japanese method of “Mokuhanga” (woodblock printing) and western style oil based ink relief printing.
Two blocks in water-based and oil ink on Shin Torinoko paper.
This print is matted in Rising Museum Board archival rag mat board and backing It is ready to frame or easily removable should you wish to use different mat board.
