The sweetest stuffed handmade Native American doll. Limbs and head are separate pieces and sewn to the body in a beautiful brown cotton. Hands and feet have hand stitching to show separation of fingers and toes. Cotton clothing is sewn with such detail sale and has multiple layers. Face is a combination of sewn eyebrows and nose, and glued mouth and eyes. Black yarn hair.
This is one from a rare collection of six Native American dolls. It's hard to know exactly when they were made but guessing from the fabric used for their clothing, I would say in the 1970s. Each one has a paper pinned to them explaining which tribe they represent. This makes me think they were on display at a small museum.
This beautiful doll represents the Iroquois tribe. She is wearing a black straight wrap skirt underneath a blue collared open coat. Decorative ribbon and trim line the ends of the underpinnings and leggings. Her moccasins are a soft suede-like chamois with seed beading on top. Her black yarn hair is worn in long braids.
