The glasses are overall Good and optics are sound. The glasses are approx 8” x 5" They are very similar to a pair identified to Congressional Medal of Honor hero Daniel Davis Wheeler, 4th Vermont Volunteers who was cited for heroism at Salem Heights, Fredericksburg. The glasses are on exhibit at the Chancellorsville Battlefield Museum in Virginia. The eyepieces are maker marked "Chevalier Opticien Paris", the body tubes are etched in English "Day & Night" "DAY AND NIGHT" and "EXTRA POWERFUL" ARE MARKED ON LENS BARRELS CIVIL WAR GENERAL JEB STUART OWNED A PAIR OF CHEVALIER BINOCULARS THAT SOLD AT AUCTION FOR $44,812.50!
