What is a chopping board/ dulcimer, why is it needed?
Wood cutting boards serve as a base when cutting food, so that neither the knife can become dull nor the table or countertop is damaged. As already mentioned, the boards for cutting are generally available in different dimensions, whether in the form of small boards so-called breakfast boards or snack boards (about 15 x 21 centimeters), or boards (about 50 x 60 centimeters) which also offer enough space to work. Wooden boards are also a beautiful and stylish alternative for serving and serving and enrich every table.
Which wood is best for wood cutting boards?
The wood cutting board is often exposed to a wide variety of loads. Thus, when choosing the right type of wood, on the one hand, the sale dimensional stability and on the other hand the durability should be kept in mind. The most popular types of wood include maple, cherry, birch, robin, beech, elderberry and walnut, which are the fine-pored woods and oak and ash on the other. The latter two woods are coarse-pored but very robust and decorative. These are all local woods and therefore particularly ecological and sustainable.

We manufacture our cutting boards / dulcimers from brain wood or forehead wood.
The brain wood side is particularly robust, abrasion-resistant and therefore the hardest side that wood can offer us. This wooden side is used e.B. as a chopping block to split wood. Extremely stressed wooden floors are manufactured as industrial parquet in brain wood quality.
With brain wood cutting boards, the knife glides gently over the wood surface and penetrates only very slightly and barely visible into the wood. Therefore, no wood fibers are injured, since the wood fibers, as with a brush, stand upright. Brain wood is extremely cut-resistant and knife-friendly.
